2. spheroid- body having nearly the form of a sphere
3. sinuous- curving in and out
4. sibilance-a hissing sound
5. severance-separation
6. seer- a prophet
7. sedition- conduct directed against public order
8. secant- cutting into tow parts
9. scuttle- sink by making holes in the bottom
10. sapient- possessing wisdom

Reread Tablet One of The Epic of Gilgamesh if you had trouble understanding the content.

Research King Gilgamesh and answer the following questions:
1. What roles may the epic have played in courtly settings throughout Mesopotamia?
2. What relation is the poet to the king about whom he speaks?
3.What sort of king was Gilgamesh?
4. What were some accomplishments of King Gilgamesh?
5. Describe the kingdom of Gilgamesh.
