Vocabulary: Quiz on 10 new Greek and Latin roots. They are listed on a separate blog entry.

Literature: Read the Introduction to Ivanhoe.
                   Write a short essay on Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. (500-700 words)
                   Choose on of the following:
                    1. Examine the ideal of knighthood as presented in Sir Gawain.
                    2. Explain the theme of the hero's passage to maturity.
                       A. courage in accepting the challenge of the Green Knight
                       B. Showing self-control when he refuses Lady Bertilak
                       C. Facing death in his appointment with the Green Knight
                   3. Explain each of the three hunts and their results.
                       ( this should include both the hunts and the activity going on at the castle)
