Tuesday Medieval Literature

Vocabulary: Quiz on 10 words and derivatives. Listed on blog entry from Jan 23.
Literature: Read to Chapter 40 in Ivanhoe.

Research the Knights Templar and their code of chivalry.
We will discuss how this measures with the conduct of Sir Brian in the story.

Research the Jewish nation during the 12th century. Where did they live? How were they treated ?
  How does this compare with the treatment of Isaac and Rebecca?

Monday/ Thursday American History and Lit

Vocabulary: Quiz on Thursday, Words and derivatives on blog post from Jan. 23.
 History: Read to page 218 in US History. Answer all Section review questions.
Literature: Read Ralph W. Emerson's essay on The Conduct of Life: Power.

 I will send home a small worksheet for history.

Wednesday a.m. American Literature

Vocabulary: Be prepared for your original quiz on the derivatives.
Literature: Finish reading Up from Slavery.
                   Please go on line and listen to BTW's address to The Altlanta Exposition.
                   Write a short  explanation of his address. You may need to read the text to understand it.
                   Make sure that you explain his words, "Cast down your buckets where they are."
                   This should be no more than 500 words.

We may need to postpone our field trip because of my absence this week. I am working on it.

Also, I will supply the text for many of the poems for your unit.
Get ready to memorize!!!

I have missed you. I am posting a general assignment, but I am also going to email you a history study sheet for Chapter 10. Please complete for Monday.

History: Print and complete study sheet. We will review next week and continue.

Literature: Hopefully, you have finished your test. I would love to get them if you will email them.

Vocabulary: I am not in a hurry at all about more vocabulary words. Please review your cards and we will quiz on Thursday.
