Tuesday Classes

Grammar: No grammar this week.
                 We will complete the next test in class a practice.

Vocabulary: You now have all 100 Greek and Latin roots. We will review next week.

Medieval Literature: Please find a copy of King Arthur and His Knights by Howard Pyle. This text is on line there no reason to purchase unless you are like me and want a "book" to hold.
Make sure I have your rough draft of your research paper.

Medieval History: Please read Chapters 59 and 60. If you are not using the text, please research the following: The Fatimid Caliphate, the Saffarid and the Samanid dynasties, Viking attack on Cordoba, Alfred of Wessex, Kenneth the first, Ivar the Boneless, Treaty of Wedmore.

US History: Test on Chapters 16-18.

Vocabulary: Begin your review of today's study sheet.

 Literature: Rough drafts of your paper are due next week. Remember it may be very rough. I just want to be able to give you some feedback.

Grammar: Please compete the Skills Support section of the 1 and 2 Patterns Unit in Analytical Grammar.

Vocabulary: Begin reviewing study sheet. We will continue our saturation next week.

Medieval Literature: Rough drafts of papers are due.

Medieval History: Read Chapters 56 and 57 in SWB's History of the Medieval World.

Tuesday Classes

Grammar: Compete the Skill Support for the 1 and 2 Patterns section in Analytical Grammar.

Vocabulary: Review study sheet. We will take a couple of weeks on this list.

Medieval Literature: Rough drafts of papers are due.

Medieval History: If you are using the text, please read Chapters 57 and 58 ( not page 447).  if you are not using the text, read any articles  about the following:
The Indian battle for Kannauj, the Pratihara, rebellion of Dhruva, invention of new Slavic alphabet, Louis the German and Michael III.

US History: Complete study sheets on Chapters 16-18.

Thursday afternoon class


Vocabulary: No homework this week. We will begin our next review soon.

Literature: We will read Chapter 5 in The Hiding Place. Please bring your book to class.

Continue working on your research paper. Now that you have done 10 hours of research paper, please begin formulating your outline and writing your paper. I would like to see evidence of both in class. Please bring that work. My suggestion is to finish your outline and to try and write a rough 3 pages of text. Let me know if you need any help or assistance.

Grammar: No grammar homework. We will attack the next section together.

Vocabulary: No homework. I will begin our review this week.

Medieval Literature: Continue working on your paper. Now that you have done 10 hours of research, please begin formulating an outline and the beginning of your paper. I would like to see evidence of both in class. Please bring your work to class.
Also, if you have a copy of Dante', bring that to class also.

Medieval History: Read Chapters 54 and 55. We are skipping 52 and 53.

Field trip on Thursday. 9:30 at USCB.

Grammar: No grammar this week. We will work in class, so please bring your books.

Vocabulary: No vocabulary. We will begin next week.

Medieval Literature: Continue to work on your research paper. Bring an outline and some written text to class next week. Rough drafts will be due on March 31.

Medieval History: Read Chapters 54 and 55. We are skipping 52 and 54.

US History: Read the remainder of Chapter 17 and the Chapters 18.  I will bring study sheets to class.

Vocabulary: There is no vocabulary for a couple of weeks. We will resume soon.

Literature: Please read Chapter 3 in The Hiding Place.
Do 5 more hours of research this week. Please schedule your time. Begin to think of your information in light of the outline we discussed today.
Mrs. Cushman will be with you at the beginning of class next week. I will be there for the second half of class.

Your field trip is April 16. It will be here soon.

Grammar: Complete Excersies 2 in Patterns 1 and 2.
These will all have the N-V-N pattern.

Vocabulary: No vocabulary this week.

Medieval Literature: Spend 5 more hours in research this week. Please bring your notes to class. You should be firm on your topic by the middle of this week and to conduct meaningful research.

Medieval History: Test on the study sheets from Chapters 42 to 52.

US History: Read Chapter 16 and to page 398 in 17.


 Field trip will be March 19. Please be at USCB at 9:30. We will go to Chick-fil-A after the play.

Thursday afternoon class

Thank you so much to Abigail's father for the technical assistance today. You were a life saver!!
Thanks also to Mac Richardson. Abigail Snyder and the Cerillo family for snacks. Everyone enjoyed them so much.

 I hope you all enjoyed the movie. I thought it was a good option for our current topic.

Vocabulary: You have a two week reprieve from vocabulary.

Literature: Review the paper options on the Feb. 27  blog entry.
Spend 5 hours of research this week taking notes, recording sources and picking your paper topic.
 We will spend next week on formatting. Please come ready.

Also, read Chapter 1 in The Hiding Place. Bring your books to class.

Begin your research for your paper. Check the paper prompts on the Jan 28 blog entry.
Read and research 5 hours this week. Make notes, record sources and choose you topic for your paper.
We will look at formatting next week.

Please bring your copy of Dante's Inferno to class.

Medieval History: Please make sure your current study sheets are compete. We will review in class for the nest test.

Grammar: Complete Exercise 1 in the Patterns unit.

 Vocabulary: No quiz this week.

Medieval Literature: Conduct 5 hours of research for your research paper. Find the prompts on the separate blog entry from  Jan. 28. Be prepared to commit to a topic next week. Take notes as you research and keep up with your sources. The due date is March 31.
 We will look at formatting next week.


Medieval History: Review Chapters 42-52 or the last study sheets if you are not using the textbook.


US History: Test on Chapters 13, 14, and 15.

Field trip on March 19. We will meet in Beaufort. We will meet at USCB at 9:30 a.m. We will all get lunch at Chick-fil-A after the performance.
