History: Read all of Chapters 1 of BJU's US History and answer questions for all Section Reviews.
               Please come ready to complete the terms at the end of the chapter together.

Thursday p.m. American History and Literature (Bluffton)

Vocabulary:   Quiz on the first list of Greek and Latin roots. These are on the vocabulary post.
                         Please bring index cards and markers next week.

Literature:    Read Chapters 1-6 in The Scarlet Letter.
                       We will be reviewing MLA formatting next week.

History:     Read Chapter 1 of BJU's US History. Answer all questions in the Section Reviews.
                   These should go into your notebook.
                   Please be prepared to enter all of the terms at the end of the chapter in your notebook.
                   (We will do these together in class.)

Thursday a.m. Ancient Literature and History (Bluffton)

Vocabulary:  Please be prepared for the first quiz during our next class period. The Latin and Greek roots are posted on the vocabulary post.

Literature: Read "The Story of Re" and " The tale of Isis and Osiris". Please write a short reaction for each of the myths. This should go into your notebook for further reference.
We will begin instruction on formatting during the next class period. Please have your notebook with you in class.

History: Read Chapters 1-4 in SWB's Ancient History. In your notebook record at least 10 bullet points about each chapter. If narrations are more productive for you, that means of fact keeping is acceptable.

Tuesday p.m. American Literature

It was nice to see all of you back again. I am so happy that you will be with me.

Vocabulary: Quiz on the posted Latin and Greek roots and their meanings.
Literature: Read Chapters 1-6 of The Scarlet Letter.
                    Underline any word that you do not know. Try to decipher its meaning from the context, if you are unable to do this, look it up!!
Try to identify Hawthorne's use of 17th century language as opposed to that of the middle 19th century.
Can you spot an example?
