Anceint Literature/ Wednesday December 16

It was such a nice day to end the term. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and do not lose sight of the true meaning of our celebration. We are so fortunate to live in a place where we are free to express our love for the one true God. Merry Christmas.

Ancient Literature/ December 15

I enjoyed our time together today. Thank you to Jacob for supplying the elements for our writing practice. Good job!

Finish reading The Iliad and finish the essay on the book.
Danielle and Marshall, please take your vocabulary quiz and return it when we have class.
We will meet again on January 5th.

Your epics need to be finished. If you can meet with your partners, please do so
Please have your copy of The Odyssey when we return after the holiday.

Ancient History and Literature Tues/Thurs December 14

Caroling Party has been rescheduled for Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. at Mrs. Fowler's house.
If you are planning on attending, please let me know.

Thank you all so much for your December payments. I know that these are terrible times for some people. If you are unable to pay this month or plan to be late, I would ask that you let me know so that I can plan accordingly. Thank you all so much for your understanding.

History: Projects are due!
Literature: Be ready to write your Iliad essay in class.
Vocabulary: Pres will bring the elements for writing.

We will break for the holiday and gather again on January 4th.

Hi Woods,

I hope that you did not have trouble finding the blog.
I would like for you to re-write your paper on Sadako with the corrections. This is so that you mom has a nice clean paper. Also, try to write the same kind of character sketch on Commodore Perry. You have finished the book, so I'm sure that you know a lot about him.

Ancient History and Literature Tues/Thurs Dec. 7

We only have a few days left before the holidays. Please try to stay focused on the assignments.
I am so proud of the work that you have accomplished.

Remember the Caroling Party on Dec. 16. You may stay through with me to make cookies or return at 5 p. m. You may invite a friend, but please let me know. I think we will finish around 8. That will be our last meeting before January 4th.

History: Pull all of your review sheets and begin your reviews. The final will be on the 14th.
Please email me if you think you are missing any review sheets.

Literature: Finish reading The Iliad and bring The Odyssey to class.
Take your mock vocabulary test at home.
You will get essay topics in class on Thursday.
Your Iliad essays will be written in class on the 16th.

History: Read thru Chapter 44 in SWB's Ancient History.
Literature: Read Books 18 thru 21 of The Iliad.
We will talk about symbolism in class on Tuesday.
We will also look at the "glory of war" as it relates.

It was nice to see you all back at class today. Our last class before Christmas will be on Dec.15.
We will have a class caroling party on Dec. 16 at Mrs. Fowler's house.
We will meet at 5 p.m. I hope you all can make it.

Review both large vocabulary lists for a mock test on Wednesday.
Read books 8-13 of The Iliad.
Use your reference sheet for the names of the gods.

Also begin your big review of vocabulary words. We will take a mock test on Wednesday.
